Think+DO Tank Foundation exists to increase the level of community self-direction over everyday circumstances in low-income parts of South Western and Western Sydney.
Think+DO Tank Foundation has earned a reputation as an ideas factory, and as a creative connector in the communities in which we work. In partnership with local people we create participatory public art and community development projects, and social enterprises.
Think+DO Tank Foundation utilises a deep expertise in social policy, an understanding built at “eye-level”, and the power of the arts, to enable the people we work with to strengthen their connections, and become agents for change in their own lives.
Our vision is of proud, creative, connected multicultural communities that draw on the skills of their members to achieve shared goals.
Since 2013, we have been creating and leading ambitious arts and community development projects to boost the boundless literacies, linguistic ability, and art-making potential of South Western and Western Sydney.
OUR MISSION
Think+DO Tank Foundation (TDTF) partners with low-income and marginalised communities in NSW, with a focus on culturally and linguistically diverse women and children. Together we develop a shared methodology, designing projects that have a demonstrated impact.
We address urban disadvantage and catalyse positive change using evidence-based, arts-centred approaches to improve community cohesion, reduce isolation, and foster equity.
We shift the cultural paradigm by creating sustainable pathways for social change, and celebrating togetherness in a multitude of languages.
OUR VISION
As reflected in the “Think+DO” of our name, we have been applying critical and curious thinking to everyday realities since 2013. As a multilingual organisation, we are committed to amplifying and celebrating the profoundly beautiful languages of our community. Rather than asserting programs from the outside, we foster creative expression from within, providing pathways for migrant and refugee women to create art, have fun, and enact the full range of their potential.
Think+DO Tank Foundation is a creative force for social cohesion, a champion of multilingual self-expression, an accelerator of artistic talent and an agile, experimental, collaborative collective. We work with local people and service partners to shape fairer systems through the arts; we can proudly say that the majority of our staff are from the communities we serve.
We work to reveal and strengthen the threads that connect us all, in society with one another, through the sharing of story, place, and culture, by making apparent our connectedness.
