Bringing Creativity and Learning to Communities

Community in Motion is a mobile initiative designed to bring creative and educational programming directly to communities, breaking barriers to access and fostering connection. With The People Movers, The Universe of Possibilities, and other mobile spaces, we ensure that people—especially in regional and remote areas—can access high-quality arts, literacy, and storytelling programs.

These mobile creative spaces are part of Community in Motion, which was initially commissioned to serve resettlement hubs across South Eastern Australia. Now, through vehicle hire, we offer a dynamic range of options, from mobile workshops and pop-up creative spaces to community-led initiatives, ensuring that each community can engage in participatory programming and collaborative storytelling wherever they are.

Making Space for Possibilities

From 2020 to 2024, Think+DO Tank Foundation has expanded its ability to engage diverse communities through Community in Motion. This initiative serves as an agile and responsive platform for social cohesion, multilingual creative production, and community-driven education. It provides spaces for storytelling, art, performance, and interactive learning—designed with community members and service partners to promote inclusion, well-being, and access to high-quality creative experiences.

And the best part? These spaces are available for hire!

OUTREACH CAPACITY

“The Universe of Possibilities” is a multi-arts outreach caravan, designed to spread joy, create optimism and empower regional and rural communities through multilingual creativity, creative programming and community engagement.

The Universe of Possibilities is designed to deliver the full benefits of our program on the road. It was commissioned to deliver high quality creative programming to resettlement hubs throughout South Eastern Australia. We propose that it begins its work in Newcastle and Coffs Harbour. It is capable of delivering outdoor events and workshops, a preferable modality in this new COVID era. Further, it is capable of delivering programming regionally, even if our core team in Sydney is locked down.

The Universe of Possibilities can operate as a pop up shop; a workshop space; an events space; an outdoor cinema; or as a venue. It carries a solar array and battery; water tanks; storage; awnings; a sound system; and a large flat screen that rises from within a wall for screenings. It draws a crowd wherever it goes!

Think+DO Tank Foundation acknowledges that we meet and work on the traditional lands of the Cabrogal clan of the Darug nation and pay our respect to Elders both past and present.
