Think+DO Tank Foundation recently farewelled our Chair and long-standing Board Member, Siobhán McCann. With deep appreciation, we honour her steady leadership and generous spirit, which have been integral to the Foundation’s story.
Siobhán was one of three original Directors who joined the Board to establish Think+DO Tank Foundation in 2013. Two years later, she stepped into the role of Chair, taking over from founder Jane Stratton, and led the Board through a decade of bold experimentation, evolution and impact.
Over her tenure, Siobhán stewarded the organisation through the earliest trials of our experimental methodology — helping translate our ideas into action. She remained a calm and determined guide as we built systems, designed programs, grew our team, and tested what it meant to work relationally with community.
Under her leadership, the Foundation grew from a scrappy start-up idea into a trusted and values-led organisation employing 15 people and turning over more than $1.3 million annually. She helped navigate us through uncertainty — from the turbulence of early funding challenges to the existential pressures of COVID — always helping us stay close to our purpose.
Siobhán’s presence on the Board was marked by patience, humility and clarity. She quietly held the organisation to its highest ambitions, ensuring our values were embedded not just in our work, but in the way we governed, led and showed up for each other.
After more than a decade of service, Siobhán stepped down as Chair and resigned from the Board in March 2025. While we are sad to see her go, we do so with full hearts and immense gratitude for all she has given to Think+DO Tank Foundation.
Sera Mirzabegian, our Secretary, will act as interim Chair in 2025 as we begin the process of refreshing our Board and setting the direction for our next chapter.
Thank you, Siobhán. You leave a powerful legacy, and you will be missed.
