About Think+DO Tank Foundation
Since 2013, Think+DO Tank Foundation (TDTF) has been working within local communities in low-income parts of South Western, Greater Western Sydney and regional NSW, co-creating artistic projects and social enterprises in which creativity and collaboration are driving forces.
At the beginning of our second decade, our commitment to collaborative experimentation through the arts is as bright as ever.
Our mission is to ensure women have agency to shape their lives and that their experience and aspirations guide the development of public programs, investment and solutions to address shared challenges.
We confront the complex social issues affecting women (typically with an experience of migration or displacement) – issues usually addressed without consulting these same women and their communities. Issues like:
Access barriers including language, transport, digital disconnection, caring/gendered responsibilities, and poverty.
Culture shock, discrimination, and racism.
Separation from family, trauma, mental illness, and social isolation.
Gender inequalities, and,
Their qualifications, talents, and experiences going unrecognised.
Our solution to these issues is to think, listen, and act differently to disrupt our social systems, challenge notions of value, and redefine who belongs to our communities. We build the power of the women, generate connections between them and our networks, and expand the sense of power, connection and possibilities.
If we achieve all that we set out to do, then the strengths, creativity and knowledge of these communities will have disrupted the systems and attitudes that reinforce their exclusion. The result will be a healthier, more creative, enriching, and connected community. Learn more about:
